Ethical Guidelines

Client

  • The client should be above 18 years of age. A minor needs parental consent, which will be taken by talking to the parent/guardian on phone by the therapist.

  • The therapist should be treated with respect. Use of profanity and abusive language is prohibited. In the event of the use of such, the session will be terminated and no further counseling will take place.

  • EFT and other counseling/therapy techniques have no side effects and don't involve drugs. However the client should take full responsibility for the counseling and the resulting consequences.

  • If the client is taking any drugs for his/her medical/psychological condition, then it should NOT be discontinued. Advice should be taken from the Doctor before doing so.

  • The therapist should be informed by e-mail if the client wants to discontinue the therapy.

Counselor /Therapist

  • The session data will be kept completely confidential and will not be disclosed in any form. However, there are some limitations to information exchange on the internet. See "Confidentiality and Privacy, ( Section B, ACA code)". Link is given below.

  • The therapist will treat you with respect and dignity.

  • In some cases where EFT counseling/therapy is not adequate for the benefit of the client, it will be stated in advance by the therapist. These kind of cases will not be taken up by the therapist. This is for the welfare of the client.

  • The Therapist has the right to terminate therapy and refer the client to another therapist, if the client is not benefiting from the treatment.
